About this video:

This moving and passionate "Ave Maria" was almost certainly written in 1970 by Russian guitarist and composer, Vladimir Vavilov, and not by Caccini.

Since the text of this work includes only the "Ave Maria" salutation and lacks the subsequent prayer, it has unique possibilities for use in secular settings, and is thus appropriate for either sacred or secular functions.  Lacking the prayer as it does, this work is really nondenominational.

Vavilov's "Ave Maria" is very emotional.  It has been used in movie soundtracks, and popularized by light Classical singers like Charlotte Church and Josh Groben.  In this version, there is an electric resonance created by the harmony between Lillian's voice and Lisa's recorder (the early flute) that rings throughout the hall, and reverberates in the heart.
