This beautiful piece is from Johann Pachelbel's Canon and Gigue in D Major, originally for 3 violins and basso continuo (viol da gamba and harpsichord).  The Canon is highly recognizable, having been used in many movie soundtracks, Baroque music cd compilations, and even sampled in pop music. 

       Our version presents a unique and fresh take on this beloved work.  Lisa's recorder (the early flute) takes over the 1st violin part, while the melodic and rhythmic variations of the bass provided by Lillian's Celtic harp add interest and create  a sense of forward motion that builds to a satisfying climax.  This piece is suitable for Wedding preludes, Wedding processionals, incidental music, concerts, background music, or church services, and concerts.
