About this Video:

Turlough O'Carolan was a harpist, singer, and composer active during the late 17th century.

"Charles O'Connor" is a lively and fun tune.  In keeping with 17th century performance style, the recorder (the early flute) improvises ornamentation for each repeated section, so that no phrase is heard exactly the same way twice. This is true of all of our music:  every verse or repeat is varied, so that the audience will always be surprised, and everything sounds fresh.  The recorder also adds many daring flourishes to an already technically challenging piece.

The obvious joy of this piece makes it perfect for Wedding recessionals, Celtic themed or not, and the intricate ornamentation make it an entertaining concert piece.
